A note from Louis

Hello, and thanks for stopping by.

I'm Louis Dodson. I started Oakhaven Records because a lot of firms are sitting on years of closed files without knowing that some AI companies are looking to license exactly that kind of material.

My job is simple: I have a short conversation with you, look at whether your firm matches what a buyer is asking for, and if it does, help you apply. If it doesn't, I'll tell you straight.

There's no cost to your firm and no pressure. I'd rather you make a careful, informed decision, with your own counsel, than a fast one.

Founder, Oakhaven Records

What you get

Clear answers, without the jargon.

  1. 01

    A free, short call

Twenty minutes, in plain English, on what data licensing is, how AI companies use records, and what it would mean for a firm like yours.

  2. 02

A check against the buyer's criteria

We look at your firm's size, location and the kinds of records you keep, and tell you honestly whether you look like a fit.

  3. 03

    Help applying, if you qualify

If it makes sense, we walk you through the application with the buyer. If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you that too.

A good fit

Could this be your firm?

  • A law firm with 10 or more people
  • Based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Australia
  • Keeps years of closed matters or records

Ticking all three doesn't guarantee anything, but it's a good reason to have the conversation.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is it free?+

Yes. It costs your firm nothing. The buyer pays us a referral fee only if your firm is accepted, and we say so openly.

Do we give up our files?+

No. You keep your original files.

Are you Mode or micro1?+

No. We're an independent referral service, not the buyer and not an official partner of either company.

Is acceptance guaranteed?+

No. The buyer decides who is accepted. We’ll give you an honest read before you spend time on it.

Do you give legal advice?+

No. Please talk to your own counsel about confidentiality and your obligations to clients before sharing anything.

Curious whether your files qualify?

A short, friendly call. No cost, no obligation.
